Ayala Malls, the country’s leading shopping, dining and entertainment destination, gained national recognition for its design and architecture. On February 26, Greenbelt was awarded at the Ani ng Dangal Awards of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA). It was honored for Design and Architecture under the Multi-Disciplinary Arts category.
The event was held at the Rizal Hall of the Malacanang Palace, with no less than Her Excellency, President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo presenting the award. The esteemed award was received by Ayala Malls Group (AMG) Senior Vice President and Group Head Marivic Añonuevo, AMG Vice President and COO Rowena Tomeldan, AMG Assistant Vice President Myrna Fernandez, and Greenbelt Mall General Manager AC Ocampo.
NCCA is the country’s premier government institution for arts and culture. Through the Ani ng Dangal Awards, it paid tribute to Filipino artists, groups and institutions which have won and garnered gold medals and championships in international competitions from November 2008 to November 2009. The event was in line with the celebration of the National Arts Month last February in accordance with Presidential Proclamation No. 683 in 1991.
This year, 41 awardees were given the prestigious accolade for showcasing exemplary performances, and for upholding Filipino artistic excellence in the international arena. There were seven recipients under the Multi-Disciplinary arts category, Ayala Malls Group being one of them. Other awardees were Imelda V. Abano, ABS-CBN Broadcasting Inc. for “Lobo”, ABS-CBN Foundation Inc., GMA Network Inc. for “24 Oras”, Mary Anne Therese Manuson, Power to Unite Catholic Family Bible Group Inc. and QTV-11 Entertainment.
This is yet another accolade given to the Ayala Malls Group, for consistently winning internationally for the design of its malls. Bravo!
